Thanks-Full

What a day. Not even having an event here at the house but I’ve fixed for everyone else it seems. I’ve helped out a couple of places, one turkey and one ham.  Cooked to the point of perfection if set back in the oven to warm up…  No, done all I can do.  The rest is up to…  I’ve got stuff put together for a thing at a friends.  And I’m down to my last bottle of happiness.  Probably a good thing – for now at least. I am thankful for my family. You know who you are.  I feel … Continue reading Thanks-Full

Say you will…

There has been a lot of thinking being done today.  I got my head cleared a little bit after a late night workout last night.  Appears that I may be in for another tonight, because with the thoughts and emotions we have acheived the clarity of mud.  But at least we can see it. Jesse Ware did a song called “Say You Love Me…”.  She is a beautiful woman, and a warm, silky voice.  Not charred or smokey – not a Kim Carnes or Laura Brannigan.  But it is nearly as haunting.  She could be compared to an unpracticed Celine … Continue reading Say you will…

Just a little bit…

As life would have it, my confidence has been a real roller-coaster ride this year.  From the ups with the job.  To the downs with the same, and then finally the lack of same. And then what, there was no proper investigation as to why what happened happend, there were no ways or means to follow up.  It was the end. Well, this is me picking up and starting again.  To have discussed my side of the events – there was no departure interview perse the dismissal paperwork was already done, would have meant outing someone who wasn’t ready or … Continue reading Just a little bit…

We’re off…

This was not as I had expected it to be. For my first “event”, not bad. The ride itself, and only the ride was about an hour and 45 minutes. But it took us all day. There was the traffic lights, construction, the flat tire – Gary’s not mine. We were on the bike, then off the bike, lock the bike, shop for this, pack it away, lug it around. Unlock the bike get back on the bike. Cuss. Forgot to look up the next destination. Oh, where are my glasses. My battery is dead. We should have gone … Continue reading We’re off…

For I am King Arthur, King of the Britons…

Am I not hearing echos from the past here… Ohio Governor and 2016 GOP Presidential hopeful John Kasich. In an interview with NBC News on Tuesday, claimed we should fight their extremism with extremism of our own, proposing a new government agency designed to spread Judeo-Christian ideology around the world. (First off – we aren’t a Christian country – Madison Doctrine. Secondly – That damned church/state thing. Did no one in that campaign or the Republican Party study Civics in school?) (Third is coming after this brief statement.) (Full disclosure; I am a Ohioan. I’ve studied this in Ohio schools. … Continue reading For I am King Arthur, King of the Britons…

BMI of 23, and still obese?…

UPDATE: 10/28/2015 my 6 month follow up. (All because I am still on the books as a Diabetic.) (It’s not something I mind because it allows me to stay in check between my annual physicals. With blood work and labs.) All of the nurses were “fawning” over me and me “new” look. I lucked out and was able to have met for a third or fourth time the same Doctor. (Being a Vet and using the VA one discovers a high turnover rate with PAs and MDs.) She walked into the exam room reading labs. Stops, makes eye contact with … Continue reading BMI of 23, and still obese?…
